都說“長江后浪推前浪”，隨著智能制造的風靡，越來越多的自動化裝備如雨后春筍般不斷涌現。如今市場上似乎已經看不到傳統機床的身影，基本都被數控機床所替代，很多傳統機床都已進入博物館，或成為象征性的一種物件。隨著時間的齒輪不停轉動，傳統機床會在將來被完全淘汰嗎？
機床距今已有幾百年發展歷史，在這樣一個新舊更換的歲月中，不斷有機床被時代所淘汰。然而一直到今天，很多工廠內還是有一些傳統機床在不斷發光發熱。筆者曾在走訪機床企業的時候詢問過很多公司負責人為何依舊在使用傳統機床，得出來的回答大致如下：

一、傳統機床價格便宜
對于企業來說，控制生產成本是極為重要的。很多傳統機床特別是車床，同樣的功率，數控車床光購置費一項就要比普通車床貴好幾倍，后期的維護、維修、配套耗材等費用也高出許多。雖然目前數控機床正在不斷取代傳統機床，但傳統機床便宜實惠的優勢還是無法被取代的，所以說傳統機床在短期內很難被徹底淘汰。

與如今的很多自動化設備甚至激光設備相比，傳統機床只需要手工操作的優點依然被很多老師傅所擁護。因為并不是每個工人都會編程的，對于企業負責人來說，數控編程人員往往需要更高的薪資，并且數控系統很多種，要找一個精通數控機床的操作員難度顯然要比找一個傳統的機床工人高。

總結起來可以看出，雖然如今智能制造已經成為制造業發展的大趨勢，但是在智能化設備普及的情況下，傳統機床依舊有其自成一格的優勢。筆者認為，隨著以后數控機床智能化程度不斷提升，傳統機床可能會被大面積替換，但要做到完全淘汰，就目前來說還不太可行。
